3D printing reconsideration of «The Bremen musicians»
Heather Gorkham (Heather Gorham) – the popular artist and the designer from Dallas which directed on itself attention the work of art Animal Tower (A tower of animals). The artist generated separate details of work in a digital format – not very well what digital skulpturka of an animal is created on the computer by means of the special program, and after them connected to create a final work of art.
The sculpture not a case reminds the Bremen musicians because Heather Gorkham quite openly knows how it affected it: «I in the childhood very much liked history about the Bremen musicians, it is direct and inspired me on creation of this work».
To transfer a sculpture from digital to the physical world became possible thanks to technology 3D of the press from voxeljet. Huge three-dimensional structure made of sand on 3D printers of an industrial class in the service center of Ausburga. The main objective of this project consisted in scale – a sculpture of 1,20 meters in height, 66 kgs weigh, has very difficult details, in particular in the top sector. Model built layers the in width of 0,3 mm within 22 hours by means of the sand material GS14 from voxeljet.
Sculpture printed as a unit on the large-format voxeljet VX4000 printer which is capable to generate models in volume to 8 cubic meters. Voxeljet offers the unique technological platform for 3D to the press at such scales.
The artist is very surprised with process fruits 3D the press: «The technology 3D of the press offers cardinally new measurement of freedom to artists and designers. The accuracy and specification level reached by voxeljet printers, really impresses».
